“Dumbest New Law?” California Could Lock You up for Using the Wrong Gender Pronoun

California must have solved every other problem in the state. According to Mike Opelka, that’s the only reason for passing a law that would fine (or possibly jail) people for using the wrong gender pronoun.

Opelka was ranting about a new law that makes it illegal for someone to repeatedly use the wrong gender pronoun when referring to a person in a senior care or long term care facility.

The bill’s sponsor, California State Senator Scott Wiener claims his bill has been misinterpreted. However, the law is clear. Healthcare workers who “willfully and repeatedly” use the wrong name or gender pronoun when referring to a patient, could end up with a fine and/or jail time (up to a year).

Listen to Mike explain the crazy new law.
